Loyola University Medical Center, doctors accused of wrongful death

Legal

CHICAGO – A woman alleges her late husband died as a result of the negligence of two doctors and a health care facility.

Sona Parker, as special administrator of the estate of Larry Parker, filed a complaint on April 5 in Cook County Circuit Court against Loyola University Medical Center, Dr. Shruti Patel and Dr. Srinath Sriram, citing wrongful death.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, between Aug. 2, 2014, and Aug. 5, 2014, Larry Parker developed heart failure that caused his death on Aug. 5, 2014. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to diagnose and treat her husband's Ludwig's Angina with airway obstruction in a timely manner.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks an amount of more than $50,000. She is represented by Leonardo D. Litwin of Hodes, Greenstein & Litwin in Chicago.
