CHICAGO — A relative is suing a Chicago hospital, alleging its negligence caused a family member's death.
Patricia Roth filed a lawsuit April 7 in Cook County Circuit Court against Presence Health and Presence Saint Joseph Hospital, as well as various respondents in discovery alleging negligence in failing to provide adequate medical assistance and supervision in the treatment processes.
According to the complaint, on April 16, 2015, John Roth suffered a hematoma to the forehead resulted from falling in his room after being admitted to the hospital. His condition worsened, leading to his death May 17, 2015, the suit says.
The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to protect John Roth from the fall that led to his head injuries and ultimate death.
Patricia Roth seeks a trial by jury and damages of more than $50,000. She is represented by attorney Brian LaCien of Power Rogers & Smith PC in Chicago.
