CHICAGO — An estate administrator is suing a Homewood rehabilitation facility, alleging negligence caused a woman's death.
Angela Taylor, as administrator for the estate of Lillie Robinson, filed a complaint Jan. 19, in Cook County Circuit Court against South Suburban Rehabilitation Center, alleging violation of the Illinois Nursing Home Care Act in failing to provide adequate assistance and supervision in giving care and treatment.
According to the complaint, on Jan. 13, 2014, Robinson suffered pains due to the development of skin breakdown to her lower extremities, Stage III-IV pressure sores and severe respiratory distress caused her death Jan. 19, 2014. The plaintiff alleges South Suburban Rehabilitation failed to comprehensively assess Robinson's conditions and failed to provide measures and treatment to prevent the development of multiple pressure sores.
Taylor seeks a trial by jury, damages in excess of the court's jurisdictional limits, plus costs of suit. She is represented by attorney Jeffrey Schlapp of Schlapp Law Group LLC in Chicago.
