CHICAGO – A man alleges a clinic knowingly violated the Clinical Psychology Licensing Act by allowing an unlicensed individual to provide mental health care treatment.

Jason Lademan filed a complaint on April 11 in Cook County Circuit Court against Clarity Clinic LLC, citing negligence and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between November 2015 and January, he received mental health treatment, which included counseling, from an unlicensed psychiatrist. He alleges this caused him to suffer emotional distress. The plaintiff holds Clarity Clinic LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to check the educational background of its agent.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks an amount in excess of court's jurisdictional limits plus the costs of suit. He is represented by Kenneth A. Hoffman of Mitchell Hoffman & Wolf LLC in Chicago.
