Brother alleges health care provider's negligence led to sibling's death

CHICAGO — A Cook County man is suing a number of Melrose Park health carer providers, alleging insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries and the death of his brother and that the defendants refuse to supply medical records.


Fiaze Issa, as independent administrator of the estate of George Issa Jr., filed a lawsuit April 13 in Cook County Circuit Court against Dr. William H. Egan, Procare Centers, Dr. Michelle Alexandre, and Roya Family Medical Center,  alleging they negligence in the death of a patient an failure to comply with the request of a law firm for records of that patient.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 6, 2015, George Issa Jr., 42, died of cardiac arrest due to multiple organ failure while at Procare Centers in Melrose Park and under the care of Egan and Alexandre. The plaintiff alleges the defendants have failed to provide health records to properly investigate Issa's death.

Fiaze Issa seeks access to all medical records pertaining to George Issa Jr., and an order that the defendants refrain from altering, destroying or disposing the medical records until inspection and copying can be made. He is represented by attorney Jordan S. Powell of Levin & Perconti in Chicago.
