Patient alleges rehab center's negligence made her condition worse

CHICAGO — An Illinois woman is suing a Chicago rehabilitation center, alleging insufficient measures were taken to improve her health.


Maxine McDonald filed a lawsuit April 12, in the Cook County Circuit Court against International Nursing & Rehab-Center LLC, doing business as Aperion Care International, alleging negligence in failing to provide proper care to the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, between November 2014 and Jan. 27, 2015, McDonald suffered injuries and her overall condition became worse because Aperion Care failed to properly care for her condition such as identifying signs of infection and skin breakdown.

McDonald seeks damages of more than $50,000, plus court costs. She is represented by attorney Edward M. Rubin of Rubin Machado & Rosenblum LTD. in Chicago.
