CHICAGO – An estate independent executor has filed a wrongful death suit against a Pals Heights care facility.
Celeste M. Nelson, as independent executor of the estate of Richard W. Nelson, filed a complaint on April 13 in Cook County Circuit Court against Park Villa Nursing and Rehabilitation Center LLC, Villa Financial Services LLC and Villa Healthcare Management Inc. alleging that they knowingly violated the Illinois Nursing Home Care Act by failing to provide the required assistance and supervision to prevent falls and pressure sores.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in May 2014, Richard W. Nelson fell, resulting in left femur fracture, and developed pressure sores on his right and left heels while in the care of the defendants. The suit states he died on Nov. 4, 2014. The plaintiff holds Park Villa Nursing and Rehabilitation Center LLC, Villa Financial Services LLC and Villa Healthcare Management Inc. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to assist, supervise and administer the care and treatment to prevent her decedent from falls and development of pressure sores.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks an amount of more than $50,000. She is represented by Margaret Battersby Black and Daisy Ayllon of Levin & Perconti in Chicago.
