CHICAGO — An estate administrator is suing a Crestwood nursing care facility, alleging negligence caused her relative's death.
Tauvi Carr, as estate administrator for Beverly Carr, filed a lawsuit April 21 in Cook County Circuit Court against Symphony Crestwood, alleging it violated the Illinois Nursing Home Care Act by failing to provide adequate medical care and treatment.
According to the complaint, between April 22-July 25, 2014, Beverly Carr developed a stage IV pressure ulcer to her buttock that worsened and contributed to her death later in 2014. The plaintiff alleges Symphony Crestwood failed to provide comprehensive assessment, assistance and supervision to prevent the development of pressure ulcer and deterioration of Beverly Carr's condition.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury, damages of more than $50,000, plus costs of suit. She is represented by attorney Jason M. Kroot of Goldberg Weisman Cairo in Chicago.
