Patient accuses Cook County medical practitioners of negligent bioplasty

CHICAGO — A patient is suing Cook County medical practitioners, alleging negligence in a medical procedure.

Sharee Hullum filed a lawsuit April 21, in the Cook County Circuit Court against Dr. Cedric Coleman and Associates Primary Care SC, alleging they negligently performed a bioplasty procedure using material with no Federal Drug Administration approval.

According to the complaint, on April 25, 2014, Hullum suffered post-operative pain, bleeding and infection on her bilateral buttocks subsequent to a bioplasty procedure. The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to consult a plastic surgeon and failed to use material for a bioplasty procedure that was safe and approved by the FDA.

Hullum seeks a trial by jury and damages of more than $50,001 She is represented by attorney Terence J. Mahoney of Neville & Mahoney in Chicago.
