Patient accuses Harvey health service providers of negligence

CHICAGO — A Park Forest patient is suing Harvey medical providers, alleging they disclosed protected health information. 

John Doe filed a complaint April 20 in Cook County Circuit Court against Ingalls Memorial Hospital, Primary Helathcare Associates SC and Dr. Danish Ahmed, alleging negligence in carelessly disclosing health information.

According to the complaint, on May 1, 2015, Doe a resident of Ingalls Memorial Hospital, suffered emotional and physical distress when the defendants disclosed information about the plaintiff's serious disease without permission and in the presence of his brother who is not authorized to receive such information.

Doe seeks a trial by jury, damages of more than $50,000, plus the costs of suit. He is represented by attorney Jack Cannon of Healy Scanlon in Chicago.
