CHICAGO — A Chicago man is suing a restaurant and bank, alleging their negligence led to him suffering injuries.

Humberto Ramirez of Chicago filed a lawsuit April 22 in Cook County Circuit Court against Andreas Koumi, Spectrum Bar & Grill and Pioneer Bank & Trust Company Te Te, alleging negligence in failing to exercise due care in maintaining the safety inside their premises.

According to the complaint, on April 25, 2014, Ramirez sustained severe and permanent injuries after falling on stairs between the basement and first floor while making a delivery to the property at 233 S. Halsted St., Chicago. The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to inspect and maintain their premises, including the stairway, and failed to put warnings of an unstable and dangerous area.

Ramirez seeks a trial by jury and seeks an amount more than the court's jurisdictional limits, plus the costs of suit. He is represented by attorney Andrew P. Leonard of Leonard Law Group LLC in Chicago.
