Woman alleges dentist fractured tooth during dental procedure

Medical malpractice 04

CHICAGO – A Chicago woman alleges that a Northbrook dentist negligently conducted dental procedures upon her teeth, mouth and bones.

Sharon Shuang Jin filed a complaint on April 29 in Cook County Circuit Court against Gary G. Alberts, DDC, PC and Gary G. Alberts, individually, alleging dental malpractice.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between 2012 and 2014, she was under the care of the defendants. On or about July 16, 2014, the suit states she underwent an emergency exam with Dr. James Griesbach that revealed that due to unnecessary adjustments made by the defendant, she had a fractured tooth and inflamed roots on three other teeth. She alleges her injuries include, but are not limited to, loss of ability to chew on her left side, jaw pain, severe headaches, nausea, mouth pain and numbness of tongue.

The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the defendants allegedly negligently inserted a crown on tooth No. 15 and made adjustments on three other teeth and failed to obtain informed consent.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgement against defendant in a sum in excess of $50,000, cost of suit and for any other relief that the court may deem just and proper. She is represented by Axia Law LLC in Chicago.
