Law money 06

CHICAGO — An Illinois patient is suing a dentist, alleging negligence over nine years of treatment.

Apolonia Mayorga filed a lawsuit May 4 in Cook County Circuit Court against Dr. Edward Mascorro, alleging negligence in failing to properly care for a patient, leading to the need for more treatment.

According to the complaint, between May 23, 2005, and May 20, 2014, Mayorga, while under the care of Mascorro, suffered physical injuries and needed additional dental care. The plaintiff alleges Mascorro failed to properly diagnose and treat Mayorga's periodontal disease.

Mayorga seeks judgment of more than $50,000, plus costs. She is represented by attorney Mark R. McKenna of Hurley McKenna & Mertz in Chicago.
