CHICAGO – Several Gurnee limited liability companies allege that a Colorado accounting firm failed to properly prepare tax returns.
Brightstar Group Holdings Inc., Brightstar Franchising LLC, et al., filed a complaint on Jan. 20 in Cook County Circuit Court against San Juan Wealth Services LLC and Robert C. Bledsoe citing breach of contract and negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege they contracted with the defendants for the preparation of state and federal tax returns for 2010, 2011 and 2012. The plaintiffs holds San Juan Wealth Services LLC and Bledsoe responsible they sustained damages such as penalties, interest and additional taxes owed as a result of errors made by the defendants in the tax preparation.
The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek judgment against the defendant in an amount not less than $135,000 plus court costs. They are represented by Fredric A. Cohen and Allison R. Grow of Cheng Cohen LLC in Chicago.
