CHICAGO — A couple is suing three businesses, alleging their negligence led to the husband suffering injuries at a Lemont construction site.

James Bailey and Brigitte Bailey filed a lawsuit March 24 in Cook County Circuit Court against UChicago Argonne LLC, Clark Construction Group and Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc., alleging negligence in failing to maintain a safe working environment.

According to the complaint, on Oct. 24, 2012, James Bailey, who was working as a pipefitter, was injured when he tripped in mud, was struck by a pipe and fell at 9700 Cass Ave., Lemont. The plaintiffs allege the defendants failed to keep their premises safe and or provide adequate caution.

The suit says James Bailey sustained severe and permanent injuries leading to physical pain, mental anguish and medical expenses.

The Baileys seek more than $50,000 from each of the defendants, plus plus court costs. They are represented by attorney Bradley N. Pollock of Walsh, Knippen, Pollock & Cetina in Wheaton.
