CHICAGO — A patient is suing the University of Chicago Medical Center and a doctor, alleging their negligence resulted in a damaged colon and esophagus.
Ariel Kerman has filed a lawsuit in Cook County Circuit Court against the University of Chicago Medical Center and Dr. Kapuluru Gautham Reddy, alleging negligence during surgery.
According to the complaint, on May 15, 2014, Kerman suffered medical malpractice at the hands of the defendants, specifically having his colon and esophagus punctured during surgery. The plaintiff alleges Reddy performed the surgery without the skill and knowledge of a professional doctor that resulted to more injuries rather than treatment.
Kerman seeks at least $50,000 from each of the defendants. He is represented by attorney John J. MacInerney of Hofeld And Schaffner in Chicago.
Cook County Circuit Court Case number 2016L004906.
