Patient accuses oncology clinic of negligence

Wheelchair 02

CHICAGO — A patient is suing a Cook County oncology clinic, alleging insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries.

Patricia Roberts filed a lawsuit May 16 in Cook County Circuit Court against Northwest Oncology & Hematology SC and Dr. Herbert Reisel, alleging negligent medical care and services.

According to the complaint, Northwest offered and negligently provided medical services to Roberts. As a direct result, the suit says she has suffered severe and permanent injuries, disability, disfigurement and expended great sums of money.

The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to administer proper medication, improperly administered Docetaxel medication, failed to obtain consent prior to administering Docetaxel and failed to ensure the health and safety of its patient.

Roberts seeks trial by jury and judgment in excess of the court's jurisdictional requisite. She is represented by attorney Erin R. Doyle of Kralovec, Jambois & Schwartz in Chicago.
