Bolingbrook woman accuses medical providers of botched surgery

CHICAGO — A Bolingbrook woman is suing DuPage County health care providers, alleging negligence in a botched knee replacement surgery. 

Mary White filed a lawsuit May 3 in Cook County Circuit Court against Dr. Robert Matlock,  DuPage Medical Group Ltd., Dr. Steven Gitelis, Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush LLC, Edward Hospital and Rush University Medical Center, alleging medical negligence in failing to provide proper medical care to plaintiff.

According to the complaint, on May 14, 2014, White suffered severe permanent internal and external injuries due to a botched knee replacement surgery at Edward Hospital in Naperville. The plaintiff alleges she sustained significant pain and suffering, emotional distress, medical expenses and loss of normal life.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury, judgment against each defendant for more than $50,000 and any further relief the court sees fit. She is represented by attorneys Stephan D. Blandin, Michael E. Holden and Rebecca E. Neubauer of Romanucci & Blandin, LLC in Chicago.
