Son accuses Rush Medical Center of negligence in mother's death

CHICAGO — An estate administrator is suing Rush Medical Center and two doctors, alleging insufficient measures to prevent injuries and death.

Britney Simpson, as independent administrator of the estate of his mother Eraina Simpson, filed a lawsuit May 8 in Cook County Circuit Court against Rush University Medical Center, Dr. Christine Tsai and Dr. Ron Leong, alleging negligence in failing to provide proper medical care to the deceased.

According to the complaint, on May 11, 2014, Eraina Simpson began suffering complications from a brain injury that resulted in her death May 21, 2014. The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to properly treat the infection of Simpson's bloodstream.

Britney Simpson seeks judgment of more than $100,000, plus court cost. He is represented by attorney David J. Gallagher of The Vrdolyak Law Group LLC in Chicago.
