Wrongful death suit filed against Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital

Medical malpractice 09

CHICAGO – An estate administrator alleges his decedent was not adequately protected from falls.

Cordell Lamar, administrator of the estate of Yolanda R. Lamar, filed a complaint on May 25 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Sinai Health System, doing business as Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital; Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital and Care Network, doing business as Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital, et al., citing negligence and wrongful death.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 24, 2014, Yolanda R. Lamar suffered permanent injuries to her body as a result of falling from her bed at the defendants' facility, which ultimately resulted in her death on May 28, 2014. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to properly supervise and take certain precautions to plaintiff's condition while she was being treated in their facility.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount of more than $50,000, plus court costs. He is represented by Guy Delson Geleerd Jr. of Nemeroff Law Offices LTD in Chicago.
