CHICAGO – A woman has filed suit against a doctor and health care facilities alleging an unnecessary surgery was performed on her.
Aubrey Doyle filed a complaint on May 20 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Dr. C. Andrew Perrott, Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, and Mercy IPA, doing business as the Independent Physicians at Mercy, alleging medical malpractice.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on May 21, 2014, she sustained permanent injuries and unnecessary medical expenses for the treatment of a hernia. The plaintiff holds Dr. C. Andrew Perrott, Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, and Mercy IPA, doing business as the Independent Physicians at Mercy responsible because the defendants allegedly performed an unnecessary surgery on the plaintiff as a result of failing to properly diagnose her condition.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount greater than $50,000 plus court costs. She is represented by Timothy M. Whiting of Whiting Law Group LTD in Chicago.
