Woman alleges negligent care caused hip injury

CHICAGO – A woman alleges her hip was dislocated while she was staying in a health care facility.

Nancy Tank filed a complaint on April 14 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Amita Health, Alexian Brothers - AHS Midwest Region Health Co., Alexian Brothers Medical Center, Alexian Brothers Health System, Alexian Brothers Hospital, Alexian Brothers Hospital Network and Raymond Stauber, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 14, 2014, she underwent a planned total right hip arthroplasty and began rehab at Alexian Brothers Medical Center. The plaintiff holds Amita Health, Alexian Brothers - AHS Midwest Region Health Co., Alexian Brothers Medical Center, Alexian Brothers Health System, Alexian Brothers Hospital, Alexian Brothers Hospital Network and Raymond Stauber responsible because Stauber allegedly moved her leg in such a way that the right hip dislocated in an attempt to move her on April 18, 2014.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in a sum of more than $50,000. She is represented by Evan M. Smola of Hurley McKenna & Mertz PC in Chicago.
