CHICAGO — A Cook County woman is suing a Chicago restaurant and bar, alleging the defendant's negligence allowed her to be assaulted by an employee of the defendant.

Julianne Dechaump filed a lawsuit May 26 in Cook County Circuit Court against Dandelion Corporation, doing business as The Grand Central in Chicago, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, on Jan. 23, Dechaump sustained injuries as a result of being struck in the face with a beer bottle by a waitress working for The Grand Central. The plaintiff alleges the restaurant failed to limit its employees' consumption of alcoholic beverages, which can lead intoxication.

The plaintiff alleges she sustained personal injuries, hospitalization, disfigurement, pain and suffering, trauma and lost wages.

Dechaump seeks an amount in excess of the jurisdictional requirements of the court, plus legal costs and any further relief the court deems fit. She is represented by attorney Michael E. Holden of Romanucci & Blandin, LLC in Chicago.
