Suit filed against doctor, Good Samaritan Hospital over alleged injuries

CHICAGO – A woman alleges she suffered injuries after a surgery.

Margaret Higgins filed a complaint on May 26 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Dr. Susan Fanapour, Advocate Health and Hospitals Corp., doing business as Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital, and Radiologists of Dupage S.C. alleging that they failed to provide proper medical care to plaintiff.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 19, 2009, she sustained a bowel perforation as a result of a hysterectomy. The plaintiff holds Dr. Susan Fanapour, Advocate Health and Hospitals Corp., doing business as Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital, Radiologists of Dupage S.C. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to properly diagnose and provide adequate treatment for the complications after plaintiff's surgery.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount of more than $50,000. She is represented by Brian Murphy of Hofeld and Schaffner in Chicago.
