Visitor blames Chicago Heights property owners for injuries

CHICAGO — An Illinois man is suing a Chicago Heights property owner, alleging its negligence caused him to fall down stairs.

Matthew Buckner filed a lawsuit June 1 in Cook County Circuit Court against Floody, LLC 14 series, and Floody LLC, , alleging negligence in failing to properly maintain their facility.

According to the complaint, on June 4, 2014, Buckner sustained injuries as a result of falling down the stairs on Chicago Heights property owned by the defendants. The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to properly inspect and maintain the common stairways of the facility.

The plaintiff says he sustained severe and permanent injuries that will require medical expenses. 

Buckner seeks damages of more than $50,000 and judgment in excess of the jurisdictional amount of the court. He is represented by attorney Michael J. Kedzie of Kedzie Law Offices PC in Chicago.
