CHICAGO — A customer is suing a Chicago hair salon, alleging its negligence caused her to suffer injuries.

Ciara Johnson filed a lawsuit June 1 in Cook County Circuit Court against Joseph S. Henderson, doing business as Faith in God Hair and Barber Salon, and Lakesha Dickerson, alleging negligence in failing to exercise care when placing a hair "weave" on the plaintiff.

According to the complaint, on Feb. 14, 2015, Johnson sustained a traumatic skin tear causing severe and permanent injuries while at Faith in God Hair in Chicago. The plaintiff alleges the defendants failed to provide a stocking cap that completely fit Johnson's head and did not respond to the plaintiff's complaints about the cap being too tight.

Johnson seeks judgment of more than $50,000. She is represented by attorney Jaime L. Padget of Winters Salzetta O'Brien & Richardson LLC in Chicago.
