CHICAGO – An administrator is suing a nursing center, citing alleged insufficient measures were taken to prevent injuries to his decedent.
Willie Gunn, administrator of the estate of Maudie Gunn, filed a complaint on May 27 in Cook County Circuit Court against International Nursing & Rehab Center LLC, doing business as Aperion Care International, alleging that the nursing center failed to properly diagnose and provide proper medical attention in a timely manner to Maudie Gunn.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between June 17, 2014, and Sept. 24, 2014, Maudie Gunn was a resident at the defendant's facility and suffered malnutrition and skin breakdown, which caused severe pain and ultimately resulted or contributed to her death. The plaintiff holds International Nursing & Rehab Center LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide proper medical care and attention to Maude Gunn as well as planning proper medical accommodation to her.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount of more than $50,000 plus court costs. He is represented by Samantha Sindles of Dudley & Lake LLC in Libertyville.
