CHICAGO — A nursing home resident is suing the Round Lake Beach facility, alleging negligence caused him to sustain injuries.

William Sechovec filed a lawsuit June 8 in Cook County Circuit Court against Hillcrest Retirement Village, Ltd., doing business as a Hillcrest Nursing Center, alleging negligence in failing to administer the plaintiff's required medication.

According to the complaint, on March 31, 2015, Sechovec developed a left upper extremity DVT as a result of not receiving his daily dose of Coumadin while a resident at Hillcrest Nursing Center.

The suit says the plaintiff sustained permanent injuries, great pain and suffering and medical expenses.

Sechovec seeks judgment of more than $50,000, plus court costs. He is represented by attorney Melanie K. Fairman of Seidman Margulis & Fairman, LLP in Chicago.
