Man alleges doctor, providers contributed to his mother's death

Medical malpractice 01

CHICAGO – A doctor and several medical providers are facing a suit from a man who alleges improper surgical techniques caused his mother's death.

David Bond, independent executor of the estate of Carole H. Bond, filed a complaint on May 27 in Cook County Circuit Court against Dr. Michael Fiorucci, Little Co. of Mary Affiliated Services Inc., Southwest Health Systems Inc., doing business as Little Co. of Mary Health Providers and Little Co. of Mary Hospital and Health Care Centers alleging wrongful death

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in November 2014, Carole H. Bond underwent hernia repair surgery, which contributed or caused her death on Nov. 23, 2014, of cardiac tamponade. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to exercise the level of professional care to Carole Bond when defendant Fiorucci placed a surgical staple into the right ventricle of her heart and failed to use proper surgical techniques during the hernia repair.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount of more than $50,000. He is represented by William A. Cirignani of Cirignani Heller & Harman LLP in Chicago.
