CHICAGO – A couple alleges they waited for hours to receive medical care at a hospital.
Raymond Berke and Carol Berke filed a complaint on June 6 in Cook County Circuit Court against St. Joseph Hospital, et al. alleging medical negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Nov. 2, 2010, Raymond Berke was admitted to the defendant's hospital and experienced prolonged body pain when it took the medical staff hours to determine his condition after a fall. The plaintiffs holds St. Joseph Hospital et al., responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to properly evaluate Raymond Berke's condition as well as provide him immediate medical attention. The suit states that on Nov. 3, 2010, it was determined that Raymond Berke was a quadriplegic.
The plaintiffs seek judgment against the defendants in an amount of more than $50,000. They are represented by Todd A. Smith and Brian LaCien of Power Rogers & Smith PC in Chicago.
