Man alleges kidney damage after unmonitored drug use

CHICAGO – A patient alleges a medication caused damage.

Alexander Zubatov filed a complaint on June 2 in Cook County Circuit Court against Dr. Sofiya Elterman; Northshore University Health System; Northshore University Healthsystem Faculty Practice Associates, doing business as Northshore Medical Group; and Northshore Medical Group alleging vicarious liability.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that he was diagnosed with acute kidney injury that was caused by the medication Truvada. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to monitor plaintiff's condition while he was regularly taking Truvada.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount that will compensate plaintiff for all his damages. He is represented by Michael L. Teich of Teich Law Office LLC in Chicago.
