CHICAGO — A woman is suing Arvind Patel, M.D., S.C., doing business as Renu Cosmetic Laser Center, and Arvind Patel, M.D., alleging negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.
Jacqueline Coty filed a complaint on June 9 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to properly perform cosmetic surgery on her.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2011, she experience pain and severe damages to her body from second-degree burns on her hands and arms due to a failed laser treatment. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because of the alleged failure to exercise proper caution while providing laser skin treatment to her.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of the jurisdictional limits of the court. She is represented by Thomas G. Gardiner, John R. Wrona and Micah J. Hughes of Gardiner Koch Weisberg & Wrona in Chicago.
