CHICAGO — The administrator of a deceased woman's estate is suing River Oaks Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center LLC, doing business as Bria of River Oaks, a nursing care facility, alleging negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries that caused or contributed to death.
Gina Butterfield, as independent administrator of the estate of Joanne Gillogg, filed a complaint on June 13 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendant, alleging failure to provide proper care to Gillogg.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Gillogg experienced severe pain from a pressure ulcer that ultimately contributed to or caused her death. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide proper medical care and adequate supervision at all times to Gillogg while she was being taken care of in its facility.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount in excess of $50,000 plus court costs. She is represented by David M. Resis of The Law Offices of Steven J. Malman in Chicago.
