Woman alleges failure to provide care in timely fashion

Medical malpractice 06

CHICAGO — A representative is suing The University of Chicago Medical Center d/b/a University of Chicago Medicine, David Howes, M.D., and Rickquel Tripp, M.D., alleging negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.

Irene Blinstrubas, individually and as the personal representative of the estate of Raymond Blinstrubas, filed a complaint on June 17 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to provide timely medical attention to Raymont Blinstrubas.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 18, 2014, Raymond Blinstrubas suffered severe physical injury and shortness of breath, and while being evaluated he suddenly had a cardiac arrest that caused his death. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to properly evaluate and administer certain medical procedures to the patient in a timely manner, which the suit says resulted in suffering and led to death.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of the jurisdictional limits of the court. She is represented by Robert M. Winter of Robbins Salomon & Patt Ltd. in Chicago.
