Woman says slippery floor led to injuries

Slip02

CHICAGO — A woman is suing Walgreen Co., alleging negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries that she suffered in a fall.

Nancy Roesner filed a complaint on June 20 in Cook County Circuit Court against Walgreen Co., alleging that the defendant failed to maintain a store free from any hazard that could cause an accident.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Aug. 26, 2015, she suffered injuries when she slipped and fell. The plaintiff holds Walgreen Co. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to clean up a spill on the floor of its store, causing the plaintiff to slip.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount in excess of $50,000 plus court costs. She is represented by Megan O'Connor of The Deratany Firm in Chicago.
