Man who had heart attack sues care providers

CHICAGO — A man is suing Christopher D. Bane, M.D., individually and as an owner, agent, servant and/ or employee of Heartcare Centers of Illinois, S.C. d/b/a Heart Care Centers of Illinois SC, alleging negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.

Matthew J. Valentine filed a complaint on June 16 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to properly evaluate his condition.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 16, 2014, he had a heart attack, following two days of diagnostic procedures at different facilities. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to provide proper medical attention and provide adequate treatment to him based on his symptoms.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant, incidental expenses, general damages and any further relief this court grants. He is represented by Debra M. Byrnes of Law Offices of Debra M. Byrnes in Chicago.
