Woman blames medical care providers for conditions after surgery

Medical malpractice 02

CHICAGO — A woman is suing St. Alexius Medical Center, Suburban Surgical Care Specialists, S.C., Paul J. Guske, M.D., and James Kane Jr., M.D., alleging negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.

Susan White filed a complaint on June 20 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to provide her with proper medical care.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that she suffered several medical conditions including physical pain and vomiting after a June 18, 2014 surgical procedure. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they defendants allegedly failed to properly perform the procedure on the plaintiff in a way that would prevent side effects after the operation.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of $50,000 and any further relief this court grants. She is represented by James A. Karamanis and Jennifer Timm of Barney & Karamanis LLP in Chicago.
