CHICAGO — An administrator of a deceased woman's estate has filed a wrongful death suit against The Villa at Windsor Park Nursing & Rehab Center LLC, Villa Financial Services LLC, Central Park Healthcare LLC and Catrina Burrell, R.N., alleging negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.

James Herring, as independent administrator of the estate of Chiefie Herring, filed a complaint on June 21 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to provide proper care to Chiefie while she was being taken care of in their facility.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2014, Chiefie Herring sustained several physical injuries, including falling and suffering a left femur fracture, developing pressure sore to her sacrum, and other conditions which contributed to or resulted in her death. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to provide adequate supervision and care to Chiefie Herring as well as providing timely medical assistance when she needed it.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of $50,000 plus court costs. He is represented by Susan L. Novosad and Jared M. Reynolds of Levin & Perconti in Chicago.
