CHICAGO — A woman is suing the City of Chicago, alleging negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.
Natasha Newson filed a complaint on June 22 in Cook County Circuit Court against the city, alleging that the municipality failed to maintain a parkway in a manner reasonably safe for public use.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on June 24, 2015, she broke her ankle when she accidentally stepped into a sewage collapse/cave-in hole. The plaintiff holds the City of Chicago responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide adequate warnings to people who were using the parkway.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount in excess of $50,000 plus court costs. She is represented by Dennis J. Kellogg of Law Offices of Dennis J. Kellogg in Chicago.
