CHICAGO — An administrator of a deceased woman's estate has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Loyola University Health System, d/b/a Loyola University Medical Center, alleging negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.
Angela McDaniel, as independent administrator of the estate of Georgia McGee, filed a complaint on June 22 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendant, alleging failure to provide proper care to McGee while she was in the hospital.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2014 and 2015, McGee experienced pain from having developed pressure sores that contributed to or caused her death. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for its alleged failure to properly evaluate McGee's condition and to treat and care for her pressure sores according to the orders of her physician.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount in excess of $50,000. She is represented by Margaret P. Battersby Black and Mary K. Volk of Levin & Perconti in Chicago.
