CHICAGO — A representative of a deceased man's estate has filed a wrongful-death suit against Southwest Surgery Center, LLC, d/b/a Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery, Franciscan Alliance, Inc., d/b/a St. James Health - Olympia Fields, April Lynn Brill, D.O.; Valerie Ann Lecomte, D.O., Anna Miller, M.D., Patrick William Wright, D.O., Emergency Medicine Physicians of Cook County, LLC, and Radiology Imaging Consultants, S.C., d/b/a Radiology Imaging Consultants, P.S.C., d/b/a Advanced Vein and Vascular Center, health providers, alleging negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.

Reynalda Contreras, personal representative of the estate of Jose Contreras, filed a complaint on June 27 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to provide proper and timely medical care to Jose Contreras.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Jose Contreras showed signs of a stroke after undergoing a surgery, contributing to or causing his death on June 28, 2015. The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant for an amount in excess of the jurisdictional limits of this court. She is represented by Francis P. Morrissey of Burke Wise Morrissey & Kaveny in Chicago.
