CHICAGO — An administrator of a deceased man's estate is suing Elmwood Care, Inc., Generations at Elmwood Park, Inc., Elmwood Care, Sir Management, Inc., S.I.R. management, Inc., SIR Management, Elmwood Care - SIR management, Generations Health Care Network, LLC, Generations Healthcare Consultants, LLC and Generations Health System, LLC, alleging negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries and negligence.
Joanne Lucas, as special administrator of the estate of Paul Sargent, filed a complaint on June 28 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to provide proper care to Sargent.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between Dec. 2 and Dec. 18, nursing home resident Sargent was not properly safeguarded from developing pressure ulcers or dehydration, contributing to or causing his death. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly failing to provide adequate care and supervision.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount in excess of $50,000. She is represented by Michael T. Mertz and Brian J. Holmes of Hurley McKenna & Mertz, P.C. in Chicago.
