Medical care providers sued after amputation

CHICAGO — An individual is suing Aref Senno, M.D., Todd Scott, D.P.M., and Diversey Medical Center, alleging negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.

Wahbi Latfolia filed a complaint on June 30 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to properly evaluate the plaintiff's condition prior to an operation.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, in 2014, he underwent a bunionectomy, ostectomy and debridement procedures, leading to pain, further medical expenses and the amputation of his leg. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to provide proper post-surgery care, allowing the plaintiff's wounds to become infected.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in excess of $50,000. He is represented by Corey A. Benjamin of Benjamin and Shapiro Ltd. in Chicago.
