CHICAGO — An administrator of a deceased woman's estate is suing Harmony Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Inc., d/b/a Harmony Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Itex Venture Fund, Inc., d/b/a Itex/AK Care Company, and Swedish Covenant Hospital, in a wrongful death case alleging negligence in nursing home care.

Mohammed Farooq Arbani, as independent administrator with the will annexed of the estate of Jacqueline Scervino, filed a complaint on June 30 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to provide proper care to Scervino.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that following Scervino's July 25, 2014 admission to Harmony, she developed multiple pressure sores that ultimately contributed to or resulted in her March 21, 2015 death. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to provide adequate supervision at all times to Scervino as well as failing to provide proper medical assistance once she initially developed pressure sores.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of $50,000. He is represented by Ashley H. Herschberger and Jared M. Reynolds of Levin & Perconti in Chicago.
