Lawsuit seeks identities of harassers

Phone 09

CHICAGO — A couple's lawsuit against Enflick Inc., d/b/a Textnow, John Does 1-19, seeks information from a phone company as it accuses unknown parties of defamation, invasion of privacy, and violation of telephone harassment statutes.

Mickie Tadros and Philip Tadros filed a complaint on June 29 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, seeking to learn from cloud-based phone carrier Textnow the identities of people who have allegedly used the service to send unwanted text messages to Philip Tadros.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that since January 2015, they have suffered damages due to texts accusing Mickie Tadros of infidelity. The plaintiffs hold the unknown communicants responsible and seek those identities from Textnow.

The plaintiffs seek a grant of their petition and draft order. They are represented by Gianna Scatchell of Law Offices of Gianna Scatchell in Chicago.
