CHICAGO — A widow is suing the Village of Orland Park, d/b/a Orland Park Fire Department; Orland Fire Protection District; and the Orland Park Police Department, in a wrongful death claim that alleges treatment for her husband was delayed when emergency responders went to the wrong address.
Violeta Jakovljevic Ostojic, independent administrator of the estate of Mile Radule Ostojic, filed a complaint on July 6 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants alleging that their response team failed to provide proper care in a timely manner to Mile Radule Ostojic.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 1, 2015,
Mile Radule Ostojic
experienced difficulty breathing and died later that day. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible for allegedly going to the wrong address first, then for not activating a defibrillator in a timely manner, then for not transporting her husband to a hospital in a timely manner.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of the jurisdictional limits of this court. She is represented by John C. Ellis of Ellis Legal P.C. in Chicago.
