CHICAGO — An administrator of a deceased woman's estate is suing Alden-Valley Ridge Rehabilitation and Health Care Center Inc., d/b/a Alden Valley Ridge Rehabilitation & Health Care Center; and Alden Management Services Inc., in a wrongful death suit alleging negligence in nursing home care.

Colleen Quinlisk Siau, as independent administrator to collect of the estate of Josephine Thurston, filed a complaint on July 6 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to take proper care of Thurston.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Thurston developed pressure sores and suffered from a fall, which contributed to and/or caused her death. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to provide adequate supervision to Thurston to keep her from falling or developing pressure sores.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of $50,000. She is represented by Jordan S. Powell and Nicole T. Schroeder of Levin & Perconti in Chicago.
