CHICAGO — A woman is suing Kitchens & Baths by Knobel LLC, Dickson Brothers Plumbing Inc. and J.D. Wieland Inc., alleging negligence and insufficient measures taken to prevent injuries.
Janet Garcia filed a complaint on July 8 in Cook County Circuit Court against the defendants, alleging that they failed to put up warning signs on a hole in the ground where they were working.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 3, 2014, she fell into a hole, causing physical injuries. The plaintiff holds the defendants responsible because they allegedly failed to inspect the premises to make sure that the hole in the ground was covered or had adequate warning.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendants in an amount in excess of $50,000 plus court costs. She is represented by Michael Silverman of Horwitz, Horwitz and Associates Ltd. in Chicago.
