CHICAGO — An administrator of a deceased woman's estate is suing Manorcare of South Holland LLC, d/b/a Manorcare Health Services - South Holland, in a wrongful death claim alleging negligence in nursing home care.
Karen Showers, as independent administrator of the estate of Marnie Newson, filed a complaint on July 13, in the Cook County Circuit Court against Manorcare of South Holland, LLC d/b/a Manorcare Health Services - South Holland alleging that the nursing care facility failed to provide proper medical care to Newson.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2014, Newson experienced pain from falling, which resulted in fractures on her right humerus that generally degraded her overall health and contributed to and/or caused her death. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide adequate supervision at all times to Newson and allegedly failed to provide proper medical attention and treatment to her fractured right humerus.
The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount sufficient to satisfy the jurisdictional requisite of this court. She is represented by Jonathan W. Young of Kralovec, Jambois & Schwartz in Chicago.
