Estate administrator claims nursing home was negligent

CHICAGO — An administrator is suing Countryside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center LLC, d/b/a Countryside Nursing and Rehab Center and Extended Care Consulting LLC, alleging negligence in nursing home care.

Lisa Buckhanan, as independent administrator to collect of the estate of Bernice Taylor, filed a complaint on July 13 in the Cook County Circuit Court against the defendant, alleging that it failed to provide proper care and medical attention to Taylor.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that, in 2014, Bernice Taylor experienced pain from the development of pressure ulcers on her sacrum and bilateral heels. The plaintiff holds the defendant responsible for allegedly failing to daily assess Taylor's overall health in order to avoid the development of pressure ulcers.

The plaintiff seeks judgment against the defendant in an amount in excess of $50,000. She is represented by Michael F. Bonamarte and Michael L Shanahan of Levin & Perconti in Chicago.
